At a glance

The manual driving simulator guides you through starting the engine, selecting first gear, exploring the simulated clutch bite and shifting into second. Watch the gear, speed and engine readouts while using keyboard or on-screen controls. This is a simplified exercise, not a replica of your training car.

How to use this practice

  1. Open the manual lesson

The launch button opens the “Find the bite” briefing with manual transmission selected. Read the controls before beginning and keep the coaching panel visible. The fictional car begins stationary, giving you time to identify each control.

  2. Prepare the simulated car

On a keyboard, I starts the engine, Shift holds the clutch down, number keys select gears and H toggles the parking brake. Follow the coach to start in neutral, press the clutch and select first. The simulator rejects gear changes without sufficient clutch input.

  3. Explore the bite

In this simulation, the up arrow adds gas and Z holds a partial clutch position after you release Shift. Watch the displays as the car moves, then release Z. Touch users can hold and slide the clutch pedal. These are software controls, not universal real-car settings.

  4. Shift, stop and review

Follow the coach into second gear and toward the marked stopping zone. Use brake, clutch, neutral and parking brake as prompted. Finish to see feedback. Retry one difficult part deliberately. Session results are stored locally when browser storage works; an unfinished drive is not restored as a live simulation.

Questions before you start

Will I learn my car’s exact biting point?

No. Vehicle dynamics are fictional approximations. A keyboard cannot reproduce pedal resistance or physical feedback. Explore the sequence here, then practise with an instructor in your training car.

Do I need a steering wheel controller?

No. Keyboard and on-screen controls are available. The 3D studio needs a compatible browser and graphics-capable device. The separate 2D parking studio is an alternative for positioning practice, but does not teach manual clutch control.

Does a good result mean I can drive?

No. Results describe this exercise only. They do not certify driving competence or predict a practical examination result.
